Fun and Cool are two words that pop up in our head when we think of this couple.
Sophie and Russell; an absolute delight to be organizing a wedding for this very pleasant couple. We had done a destination wedding in Goa earlier, our first beach wedding (of Nikki and Steve) at a beach shack on Ciarans. So we are quite pepped up about doing a wedding in Goa again here. Call it Goa love 😉
Sophie and Russell had zeroed down on Cuba Patnem beach. Its quietude has sort of an ‘uplifting the spirits’ effect. The food served by Cuba Patnem is simply delicious. The best aspect however of both these shacks is their hospitable and efficient staff. Of the many beach shacks lined over the Goan beaches, these ones are the aces.
Well our couple, Sophie and Russell, who live in UK (have two lovely dogs whom we met on the Skype call) were a referral client. They wanted an Indian wedding with the undercurrent of subtleness and minimalism. Their idea of wedding was of understated elegance.
It was an intimate wedding with only ten guests. Mehendi ceremony was a day prior to the wedding at a villa in Lalit, Goa. The luxurious villas at Lalit, Goa are inspired by Portuguese architecture overlooks the golf course / Arabian sea reeks of sheer luxury and indulgence. It has its own private plunge pool, lush green garden and a gazebo to soak into the beauty and quiet.
Next morning, we moved to Cuba Patnem for the wedding ceremony.
White canopy were adorned with flowers, the bride walked down the aisle of rose petals thrown on the sand beach. And for the shack we did the decor with marigold flowers. For dinner, we had used square tables chairs and converted them into a sit down dinner set up with our linen.
It was the bride’s day and boy she owned it. She rode the elephant, yes you heard us right, she did. She was wearing the bridal lehenga and heels and yet she walked on the marshy land. She was such a sport. Why says only groom gets to arrive on a horse back, in this case elephant.
