How much does a wedding planner cost?
With so many moving parts, pinpointing an exact cost for a wedding planner can be challenging. On average, couples allocate between INR 4,00,000 to INR 10,00,000 for planning services, depending on the planner’s experience, scope of work, logistics, and level of involvement required.
A highly experienced planner with a proven track record, deep industry connections, and a refined approach will naturally fall on the higher end of this range—or beyond. For a more accurate estimate, it’s best to review your overall wedding budget and discuss your specific needs with your planner.
Is a wedding planner necessary if the venue provides a coordinator?
Absolutely. A wedding planner and a venue coordinator serve distinct roles. While there may be some overlap, a venue coordinator is primarily responsible for managing the property, ensuring in-house services run smoothly, and enforcing venue policies. Their focus is on the venue—not on your overall wedding vision.
A wedding planner, on the other hand, oversees every aspect of your wedding—from curating your design concept to managing vendor logistics and executing a seamless timeline.

Should I hire a planner first or book the venue first?
Hiring a planner first is always ideal, especially if you need guidance with location scouting, narrowing down options, budget management, or vendor negotiations. A planner can help you assess venues from a logistical and experiential perspective—ensuring it’s the right fit for your needs before you commit.
If you’ve already booked your venue, that’s fine too! Just be sure to understand the terms and what is included so you’re making informed decisions.

Where are you based, and where do you plan weddings?
We are headquartered in Delhi, with additional workspaces in Jaipur and Goa. Our expertise spans across India, with a focus on Goa, Rajasthan, and Kerala. Over the years, we have also orchestrated weddings in Mussoorie, Rishikesh, Corbett, Vadodara, and beyond—always seeking destinations that align with a couple’s vision.

How many weddings do you take on each year?
Memorable Indian Weddings is not a high-volume company. We take on only 8 to 12 weddings annually, ensuring that each couple receives our full attention, creativity, and dedication.
Each wedding is carefully considered based on alignment with our values, chemistry, and budget, ensuring the right match for both parties. But sometimes, a wedding speaks to us on a different level—a cultural celebration we’ve never done before, an intimate gathering with a deeply personal touch, or a vision that challenges us creatively. In those moments, we set aside numbers and logistics, choosing to take on the wedding simply because we love it. It’s these experiences that inspire us, push our creativity, and add depth to the weddings we craft.
Who are your couples?
Many of our couples live abroad and choose India for their destination wedding, resulting in multicultural celebrations that are both refined and deeply personal.
They value timeless elegance over fleeting trends, focusing on meaningful details, immersive experiences, and moments that will be cherished for a lifetime. Instead of an event that feels transactional, they seek a curated, effortless celebration—one that reflects their story while creating unforgettable experiences for their guests.

Do you charge a fee for the initial consultation?
We offer an initial consultation and a few follow-up calls free of charge—this is an opportunity to understand each other and determine if we’re the right fit.
However, if you’d like us to begin reaching out to hotels for availability and pricing, this service is available once we’re officially on board.
Hotel quotes are readily accessible through websites and booking platforms for a general budget estimate, but finding the right venue is about more than just numbers. A planner’s role isn’t simply collecting quotes—it’s about understanding inclusions and exclusions, negotiating terms, and ensuring the venue truly aligns with your vision.
Some planners, especially in their early years, take on extensive venue research before being hired, hoping to land a client. But with experience comes a refined process. The right approach is to first find a planner you trust, have meaningful conversations, and then move forward with planning—venue selection included.
What is the retainer to reserve our wedding dates?
If you’ve already secured your venue, a non-refundable booking deposit of 30% is required to reserve your wedding date. The remaining balance will be split into two to three payments, with all dues cleared no later than two weeks before the wedding.
If your venue is still being finalized, we offer a phased retainer structure. Initially, a smaller retainer is required to begin planning support, and once your venue is confirmed, an additional payment will complete the full retainer. This structure ensures a smooth planning process, giving you flexibility while finalizing key decisions.
What if we’re unsure about planning a wedding and only want to proceed once a venue is confirmed?
We understand that selecting a venue is a key decision, and some couples prefer to finalize it before fully committing to planning. To support this, we offer a phased retainer structure, allowing you to engage us early in the process while still finalizing your venue.
An initial smaller retainer secures our planning support, and once the venue is booked, an additional payment brings it up to the full 30% retainer. This allows you to receive expert guidance from the start, without rushing decisions, while giving us the flexibility to begin laying the groundwork for a seamless planning journey.

How far in advance should we start planning our wedding?
While every couple’s timeline is different, we recommend starting at least 12–18 months in advance for destination weddings. This gives us ample time to select the perfect venue, source the best vendors, organize travel arrangements, and finalize custom details, ensuring everything comes together smoothly.
That said, we’ve successfully planned large-scale weddings in as little as 15 days, even for clients with specific cultural needs. We also work with couples who reach out years in advance, reconnecting when they’re ready to start planning. Whenever you’re ready to begin, we’re here to guide you through the process and make sure your vision is executed seamlessly.
How do you ensure our wedding stays within budget?
We begin by setting a clear and realistic budget from the start. It’s important to stay grounded—weddings often exceed budget by 10-15% due to unexpected costs or changes in preferences. Resist the temptation to incorporate too many Pinterest trends or request over-the-top elements that may not align with your budget. By focusing on your core vision and priorities, we can ensure your wedding remains beautiful, meaningful, and financially manageable.
That said, India is as expensive as any other destination, and assuming everything will be “cheap” is a misconception. While you may get more floral arrangements for the same budget, those arrangements won’t be discounted—they’ll still be crafted to the high standards you expect. Similarly, a photographer in India charges as much as their counterparts in America or Europe, and the same applies to makeup artists and other luxury vendors. Being aware of these realities ensures you’re prepared and can make informed decisions.
What’s the best way to communicate with you throughout the planning process?
Every client is unique, and we understand that some prefer emails, while others may prefer WhatsApp or even calls. As boutique planners, we have the flexibility to adapt to your preferred mode of communication, ensuring a smooth and personalized experience. While we maintain certain boundaries, we manage timings to align with both your timezone and ours, so we stay connected in a way that works best for you.

I want to book with you, but you’ve never planned a wedding at my chosen venue. Will this be a problem?
Not at all. A great wedding planner isn’t defined by how many times they’ve worked at a specific venue, but by their ability to adapt, create, and execute seamlessly—anywhere.
We don’t believe in repeating the same formula at familiar venues. Instead, we approach every location with fresh perspective, creativity, and a deep understanding of how to shape a space to reflect your vision. A truly bespoke wedding isn’t about how well a planner knows a venue—it’s about how well they can transform it into something uniquely yours.
Will you work with vendors we select, or only those you recommend?
We don’t operate from a fixed list of vendors. We work with excellent professionals and recommend them based on their expertise, reliability, and alignment with your vision.
Having a planner-led approach to vendor selection also helps ensure that everyone involved shares the same commitment to quality, professionalism, and seamless execution. That said, we are always open to exploring vendors you have in mind.
Part of our role is to guide you toward decisions that serve your wedding best. If we feel a vendor may not be the right fit, we’ll nudge you in the right direction—that’s what you’ve hired us for. Every vendor plays a crucial role in shaping the experience, and we ensure that each one contributes meaningfully to the celebration.
Who handles the wedding design and production?
As both planners and designers, we take a hands-on role in developing and executing the creative vision for every wedding we plan.
From floral styling and table settings to custom-built installations and props, we oversee every design element, ensuring a cohesive and thoughtfully crafted aesthetic. But before any of these elements come to life, we collaborate closely with you to refine a vision that feels distinctly yours.
This dual approach, where we handle both planning and design, is what allows us to bring your vision to life with precision. It ensures that every element, from logistics to decor, works seamlessly together, creating a harmonious experience from start to finish.
Not all planners are as design-focused as we are, and this naturally attracts couples who care deeply about aesthetics, ambiance, and immersive storytelling through décor. For us, design is more than just visual—it’s about creating an emotional experience that immerses your guests and tells your love story in a memorable, meaningful way.
Do you work with commissions?
No, we do not ask for any commissions from vendors.
Our recommendations are based entirely on expertise, compatibility, and shared values, ensuring that every vendor aligns with the wedding’s vision.
When we suggest a vendor, it’s because we genuinely believe they are the right fit for you—not because of any financial incentive. Many couples don’t realize that some planners operate on commission-based referrals, which can lead to vendors being chosen based on financial arrangements rather than their suitability for the couple. We prioritize transparency and integrity in every recommendation we make.
